Billy Ray Cyrus Expresses Regret, Love for Miley

Diposting oleh grumpycrumpy di 08.21
Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on Good Morning America yesterday and somehow resisted the urge to throw a chair through a window following his sit-down with Robin Roberts.
After coming across as loonier than Tila Tequila in an earlier interview with GQ, we need to give Billy Ray props for standing up and taking responsibility this time around.

Referring to his messy marriage (now on the mend), Billy Ray says he was "surrounded in darkness" when he claimed Satan was attacking his family. Now, after re-assessing his diatribe, Billy Ray explained his point in clearer terms:

"Fame can be a dangerous animal... And it's a delicate thing... [But] I love Hannah Montana. I love Disney. I wouldn't change anything."

While daughter Miley has run into a few scandals over the past year or so - most notably a bong-smoking incident around her 18th birthday - Billy Ray doesn't foresee the sort of trouble ahead at which he had previously hinted.

"Miley has a great heart," he said. "She's very intelligent. She will make good choices and she knows right from wrong."

Does he have any regrets? Yes. Billy Ray admits he didn't always approach fatherhood properly.

"I was a great playmate... for teaching [my children] how to camp and build fires and ride motorcycles and four-wheelers, and horses, and all those fun kind of things... As far as sitting down and doing algebra and science, the homework, I wasn't very good at that. So I look back on it and think, 'You know what? Maybe, no doubt, I could have been a better dad.'"

In the end, when it comes to Miley, the country singer makes it clear: he loves her "more than life itself."
